The short version: this is educational, it's about my own builds, and what you do with the information is on you.
Every hardware build, firmware setup, and write-up documented on this site is shared for educational and informational purposes, as a record of my own hobby projects. This applies to everything here, including anything added in the future. None of it is instructions to do anything to a device, network, or person you don't have explicit permission to test.
Use anything from this site on your own devices, your own networks, or systems you have clear, explicit authorization to test — full stop. Accessing or interfering with devices, networks, or data you don't own or don't have permission to test can violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and equivalent state and local laws, regardless of intent.
Some of the hardware documented here is receive-only: it listens for signals already being broadcast and never transmits, jams, exploits, or interferes with anything. Other builds are general-purpose radios capable of transmission. Whichever kind you're working with, transmitting on licensed or restricted frequencies without proper authorization can violate FCC regulations. Knowing and following the rules for whatever you transmit on is your responsibility, not mine.
Soldering irons, rechargeable batteries, and 3D printers all carry real physical and electrical risk. If you build any of this yourself, that's on you — follow proper safety practices, and if you're not confident handling a tool or a battery safely, don't.
Some of the firmware I build on top of is an open-source project built and maintained by other people, credited on the relevant project page. I document my own builds on top of their work; I don't control their further development and can't speak for how anyone else extends or modifies them.
This site links to other people's repositories, videos, and projects. I don't control that content and I'm not responsible for it — it's included for credit and context, not endorsement of everything on the other end of the link.
Any companies, products, or trademarks mentioned or discussed on this site are the property of their respective owners. This site isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them — commentary here reflects my own opinion, not theirs.
I'm not a lawyer, and nothing on this page is legal advice. Laws around device access, RF transmission, and data privacy vary by state and country and change over time. If you're unsure whether something is legal where you are, check with someone qualified to tell you — not a hobbyist's disclaimer page.
Everything here is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. I'm not responsible for how anyone else uses the information, firmware, or 3D-print files shared on this site. Use of anything here is at your own risk and your own legal responsibility.
