The Miniware TS-101 is a compact, USB-C PD powered soldering iron — a sibling to the popular TS100, with a higher-resolution OLED display and support for Tip Sense (auto-detecting which tip is installed). No bulky station required; it heats up fast and runs off any decent USB-C PD power source, including a battery bank.
My tip of choice is the knife style — good all-around control for both fine detail work and drag soldering.
Printed parts I've added to mine:
Mine runs IronOS, open-source firmware that adds a proper settings menu, power profiles, and sleep/motion detection over stock. Flashing is drag-and-drop over USB — no special programmer needed.
Heads up: some newer TS-101 hardware revisions ship with a different OLED panel that IronOS doesn't support yet — check the tracking issue before flashing if yours is a recent purchase.
